What is the Retail Trade industry in the US?

Industry Definition

The Retail Trade sector is the final step in the distribution of merchandise and includes retailers operating brick-and-mortar locations and non-store retailers operating via mail-order, door-to-door, kiosks and internet mediums. Merchandise sold by retailers is purchased from suppliers and is then sold to consumers though the retailers’ store or other mediums.
